Y2C—Youth 2 Community Art
Series
CB Cares is committed to promoting the musical and artistic talents of
our area youth. Our Y2C program, rich in community partners including
First Friday, provides our youth many opportunities to showcase their
talents. Y2C is made possible in part through the 5- County Arts Fund,
a Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts program of the Pennsylvania Council
of the Arts, a state agency. It is funded by the Citizens of Pennsylvania
through an annual legislative appropriation, and administered locally
by
the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance. The Pennsylvania Council on
the Arts is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal
agency. The 5-County Arts Fund is also supported by Peco, an Exelon Company.
For additional information about these grants, visit the Cultural Alliance
on-line.

Anti-Drug Skate Park Event
Anti-Drug Skate Park provides an opportunity to present an anti-drug message
to youth. The activity demonstrates alternative ways for our youth to
spend time with friends engaged in positive activities in our community.
Typically, Anti-Drug Skate Park occurs during the month of October in
conjunction with Red Ribbon Week. Along with community partners, including
the Central Bucks Family YMCA, we offer a free day of skate boarding and
refreshments as the music
of local teen bands provide the backdrop to an electrifying atmosphere.
In return, the youth must engage in conversation with guest speakers on
topics of ATOD.

Safer Teen Driving
The goal of CB Care’s Safer Teen Driver Program is to provide our
parent and teen audiences with the resources to develop safer teen drivers.
Driving fatalities continue to be the number one cause of death for teens
between the ages of 16 – 19. CB Cares in concert with our mission
statement has served as a “community catalyst by engaging, empowering
and linking the various community sectors” as we spearhead this
important
community initiative. Our program has included an evening community presentation
featuring author and speaker, “Timothy Smith:Crashproof Your Kids,”
the development of our Parent/Teen Driving Contract and two roundtable
discussions which included representatives from law enforcement, driving
industry experts, elected officials, and teens.
